But...the worst was yet to come. It really wasn't "the worst", but the waiting seemed endless...even though it was only a little over an hour. The anticipation was something else. Did I mention that the Miami airport might just be one of the coldest (temperature and atmosphere) places I have ever been to.
The waiting wasn't really that bad when you have company like this. Miarose spent her time running back and forth and jumping over the benches. Lina spent her time ringing her hands and trying to mentally change time, so her mother would arrive sooner. Abuela Numero Gringa, (that is my Mom) took the time to soak everything in.
Time seemed to stretch....especially when we looked down the walkway for the International flight arrivals...
I personally can not imagine what feelings and emotions were going through the Lovely Lina. There is no way that I would ever know how it feels to be away from my Mom for almost 10 years. I am sure, after watching my wife at the airport, the two hours waiting may have seemed just as long as those ten years.
AND THE MOMENT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!!
WELCOME TO AMERICA!!!!!!
Dios que emociones tan encontradas.
